A Python Efficiency Mining Game

Industrious is a turn-based mode game in which you are commanding a mining expedition through a series of missions. Each victory grants you additional turns and unlocks new technologies you can use in your next challenge. 

Build, Craft, Trade and Research with Multiple Mechanics

You will travel between four different environments and face blizzards, flows of lava and many more obstacles. To achieve your goals, you will have access to over 25 buildings with a diversity of bonuses and powers.

In addition, you can create 8 types of parts from minerals you gather using the smelting mechanic. Later on, you can use airports to trade those crafted components to earn credits by selling them on an evolving market place. The money collected this way will let you fund researches in any of the tech-trees. These upgrades grant access to powerful buildings and improvements for your expedition.

Turning a Learning Experiment into a Game

Industrious is 100% coded in Python and started as a learning project which was ultimately turned into a full game. In its initial form, it was a text based game only created to test out what could be accomplished with Python programming. After a few months, our collaboration blossomed into Pandagrams as we took the project and upgraded it with more artwork, sound, music and features. 

The game uses the full potential of the Python Arcade Library (@ArcadeLibrary on Twitter). Maps are procedurally generated and so is the stock market system integrated in the trading mechanic.
